What's New in Mastercam X6 Lathe

Variable Depth Roughing
Ceramic turning inserts often experience "notching" — imperfections that quickly develop when a roughing pass repeatedly engages the material at the same point. Mastercam's variable depth roughing solves this. The tool moves in at an angle on the first roughing pass, so the material contact point moves. Then the tool takes the second pass in a horizontal cut, using the now angled stock to maintain variable contact. The result is much longer insert life.
Pickoff, Pull and Cutoff Operations
Mastercam Lathe X6 lets you quickly translate geometry and create a part transfer operation from the main spindle to the sub spindle and / or a bar bull operation prior to a cutoff toolpath.
Up / Down Finishing Strategy
Lathe finish toolpaths are now optimized by detecting and finishing up (flat) and down (wall) cut regions of the profile using a single chain.
Canned Rough and Finish Improvements
Mastercam X6 Lathe includes several improvements to canned rough and finish toolpaths including new clearance options, new lead/lead out options for cutting an OD towards the chuck, type I and Type I canned cycle support, and more.
Optional Finish Feed / Speed Controls in Facing and Canned Grooving
Facing toolpaths in Mastercam X6 Lathe offer additional feeds and speeds specifically for finish passes and Canned Groove toolpaths.
